I’ve had a look at my year in numbers from last year several times, and it was a little too post-it. I was starting on my internet journey and felt like an achievement that I had 196 YouTube subscribers in 2024. I didn’t quite double it in 2025, but I’ve come close, which to me is pretty good.
Plugins and Development
I’ve created dozens of plugins and snippets. Several new premium plugins, including Post Access Manager for SureCart, which was a more extreme version of this article. External Links for SureCart, Download Links for SureCart as well as dozens of plugins and snippets such as MainWP activity Log, ModDash Notifier, SureCart Bulk Coupon Generator, Dadan Integrator Block & Notify for SureMail
My Open Source Journey
I’ve had over 3 times as many GitHub contributions this year (1910), now about 95% of these have been to my own repos, both Private and Public.
I have published my first few plugins to the WordPress Repository, Webhooks for Bricks Forms and HookSure for Sure Forms. As webhooks continue to be a really important part of my workflow, I have also submitted several successful pull requests to SureCarts WordPress SDK (Banner and Icon Support), GridPane’s Nginx plugin, fixing an issue with textdomain notifications.
I have also released a few new MainWP plugins. As I continue to work in this field, I have also released my best open-source offering, UUPD, which is a universal updater for WordPress. It allows plugins and themes to easily update from GitHub, private repos and and has unique features like pre-release, advanced filtering, and slug filtering, developed to allow me to distribute updates without an overhead, i.e directly from GitHub. It actually continued to develop as I wanted to do more.
My Own Utilities and Sharing the Knowledge
I continue to build and work on my own utility plugins with refinements to Ninja Updater, Tasks after Install and foundations. I continue to work on these and make them work better to speed up my own workflow. These utilities and a small core of essential plugins (Devkit) allow me to do so much.
I have recorded 100s of bubbles this year and released over 130 YouTube videos on top of writing over 100 articles here on TechArticles it has been a full-on year of sharing my tinkerings with you, my audience and and I have very much enjoyed what this has allowed me to do, I have again spend £1000s on new plugins for my stack and trying different things but its pretty much been very enjoyable.
What does 2026 hold?
I suspect there will be a few more premium offerings for reallyusefulplugins.com. I am looking to create some premium content in 2026. I am not sure what or how yet, but it is on the list of things to do. I will continue to offer consulting and project support and will continue to add concierge clients to my business.
I plan on releasing something to go with UUPD this year, too. It’s already in early development, and I am pretty advanced with a new plugin to work with MailerPress. Given I have an LTD and missed the fluentCRM one, this seems like a good opportunity for me to make this part of my stack.
So all that I need now is to say thanks to everyone who has read, commented or subscribed. It really is appreciated, and I look forward to sharing what I know and learn in 2026 with you all.
