Regular visitors may have noticed some changes to the site in the last week or so, specifically around replacing facets and other filters for category and taxonomy listings.
Visually and operationally, they are the same or close enough, but there have been some changes here because I wanted to remove a lot of the AJAX we have been using on the site. The reason for this is my plans to make this site Static using Simply Static.
This hasn’t been without additional pain, but as always, Patrick and the team at Simply Static have been brilliant with support. Other than the spam issue I’ve had on the forms, which I have temporarily fixed using an external service, I think we are nearly there.
I’ve had to upload almost the entire Presta Player plugin to Bunny.net and add a fair amount of code to add additional styles and options on the PHP to facilitate mapping, but I think I am nearly there.
Please bear with me for the next few days as I continue to work on and test what has been done. However, if you’re reading this article, this site should now be static, utilising Bunny’s global CDN with replication in the EU and North America.
I will continue to tune the website over the next 3-5 days and hopefully iron out any issues.
